Born in Delft, the Netherlands, Michèle van de Roer is a multidisciplinary artist, awarded a Fulbright Fellowship (Pratt Institute, New York). Her pictorial research revolves around the notion of space and the perception of nature. She paints both realistic landscapes and abstract interpretations of the surrounding world.

Her work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the Musée Rodin, the Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University Archives, and the Bibliothèque nationale de France in Paris, among other institutions that have acquired her works for their collections.
