Lives and works in Klosters, Switzerland

Throughout his career, Bruno Suter has developed a singular
practice grounded in the authenticity of gesture, spontaneity, and a pursuit of visual truth. Trained in Switzerland and based in Paris since the 1970s, he founded the agency Eldorado, where he served as artistic director. Through his work in the field of visual communication, he has articulated a conception of the image as an autonomous language, in which expressive force, color, and formal precision take precedence over discourse.

Introduced to drawing at an early age, Bruno Suter has pursued a prolific artistic practice alongside his professional activity, working across painting, sculpture, photography, and drawing. A profound continuity emerges between these two fields of practice. In his painting, vivid color placed at the center of the composition echoes the visual principles that shaped the United Colors of Benetton campaigns, while the fluid, gestural forms, rooted in writing and movement, recall the ribbon motif developed for Hermès.

Far from standing in opposition, his work as an artistic director and his activity as a painter inform and sustain one another, shaping a coherent body of work in which the image, whether reproduced on a mass scale or presented as a unique object, remains above all a sensory and personal experience. Bruno Suter’s works have been presented at Art Basel and Art Paris Art Fair, and have entered numerous private collections in France and across Europe.
